  My BrickFest Thanks

General Impressions - What a blast! Man, fans of the brick RULE!!! So glad to see so many of you again, meet some new faces, touch base with "old faces" and get to know many of you better. Although BrickFest is wonderful, it is nice to return home, (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.vignette)

Micro continues to impress, plus thanks, Janey!

Watch the galleries for pics of the outstanding micro creations that appeared at this year's BrickFest. Once again, the creations were incredible! There was even a tiny bit of spillover this year as the National Trust competition included a number (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: Mecha Contests at BrickFest 2005!

(...) So who were the winners of all the contests and where are their mecha pictures? I need the vicarious enjoyment during my summer mecha building hiatus. :-) K (19 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Megaman and Apeboy

(...) Lenny, I really like these two models. Very frugal with brick but rich in style. Kevin (19 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Vignettes at Brickfest 2005

Hey Orion, These are outstanding! Thanks for documenting the vignette room. Looks like it was a smashing success. Bruce (19 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

  Re: Moby Dick vignette

(...) Thanks for the comments, everyone! I'm glad you liked it. I borrowed the 'splashing water' idea from my brother's vignette: (URL) Oiran's Ghost>. "Big Daddy" Nelson (19 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Vignettes at Brickfest 2005

  Vignettes at Brickfest 2005

At Janey's request I individually photograhed every vignette at Brickfest 2005. I tried to include the MOC card in every photograph (although they sometimes appear out of focus due to the closeup nature of the photo). The gallery can be found here: (...)   Re: The first of the BrickFest vignette pics are coming in...

(...) At Janey's request I individually photographed every vignette at Brickfest. I tried to have the MOC card for each visible in each photo. I've upload the pics to Brickshelf at I'll let eveyone know when the folder is public. -Orion (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: The first of the BrickFest vignette pics are coming in...

(...) Janey Cook's TV vigs (...) Scott Quirk's excellent "guess the Shakespeare quote" vigs. The blue-and-black item on the left edge had doors to flip open, with the scene, act, and play name for each of the vigs. (...) This one escapes me, but I (...)   Re: Joe Vig: Enter the Matrix

Hey Ryan, The way you've done the figs so high up, and the trans rounds for the bullets flying, is outstanding. As with others I'm not so sure about Joe down below. Bruce (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

The first of the BrickFest vignette pics are coming in...

Check it out: Lost In Space and The Brady Bunch: (URL) A whole lot of vigs. I think I can identify at least two as Shakespeare vigs: Romeo and Juliet in the upper left rear, and #8 is a scene from A Midsummer's Night Dream. I have a feeling the (...) Good idea! -THWAP- (URL) Zaphod, Arthur, and Ford arrive on Vogsphere to rescue Trillian. The flatlands, though, hide a mysterious obstacle to their plans...   Re: Joe Vig: Enter the Matrix

(...) Thanks, Rob! :) (...) Thanks, Nathan. I considered making it just Trinity and the Agent, but my friend and I thought it was funny for Joe to be in there. Maybe I'll try another Matrix scene without Joe in it. Ry (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: All His Life...

Hey Matt, Great scene! It has a real sense of longing to it. Very nice droid, too. Bruce (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: "Who's that walking in these woods? Why its Little Red Ridinghood!"

Hey Steve, Spotlighted and blogged! I love this series. What's up next? You probably saw this (URL) Cinderella scene> and this (URL) Snow White>, both by Moko, and, while it's not exactly a vig, this (URL) Snow White> by Michael Jasper. Bruce (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Moby Dick vignette

(...) Hey Nelson, It's up on VB now. I really like how you did the shape of the tail. I did a (URL) Moby Dick scene> a while back, but my whale came out looking dinky. Yours implies a much larger whale, which is cool. Bruce (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Nelson, That's sweet! Especially the water - never seen it done that way before. James Wilson Dallas, TX (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Moby Dick vignette

(...) Nelson, very cool. Gets my vote as the best vignette seen on Lugnet. Of course, being a Melville fan doesn't hurt. Great shape on the tail, and the water effects look great too. Captures the motion very well. Seth. (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Joe Vig: Enter the Matrix

(...) Very cool! The detail of the bullettime and the Matrix code is great! Adding Joe is funny, but this vig would have been just as good simply as a Matrix vig. Now I want to make some Matrix vigs of my own! -- Nathan Wells (19 years ago, 14-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Shadow : scout mech

(...) Uh, YEAH! Very nice Chris. I'll echo what Jon and Mladen said on style and color. It's a tad thin, but that conveys speed.
