Re: U.S.S. Missouri (for real this time!)

(...) Lindsay - it's always nice to hear you opinions and thoughts. Being so busy with my work this past year and a hald has left me starved for building / discussion, obsessing over the brick. I think I'm finally "over" my pissed-offedness about (...) (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military)

  Three vigs by three builders

Hey, I put these all on (URL) VignetteBricks>, but these builders don't seem to post on Lugnet, and they're so cool I wanted to make sure they weren't missed: Shane Larson's (URL) Single Track>: (URL) A-tree's (URL) Forgotten Samurai>: (URL) (...)   Re: The Brick Testament: Ehud and Shamgar / book signing tomorrow

Hey Brendan, Great stuff as always. You should do some vigs along with your chapters, btw. :) Moabites-- 3:12 Awesome idol, esp the onion dome. King Eglon--Great fig idea. I saw the post above about the difficulty with the arms, which is too bad. I (...) (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: Joe Vig's Twin Sisters

(...) But, are you sure those are Joe's (...) I was thinking that Joe's fondness for white headgear was the result of growing up around his siters on the Wild West Frontier. Brian Darrow (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Joe Vig's Twin Sisters

(...) Snip I agree... that's one expensive vignette. But, are you sure those are Joe's sisters? Joe has brown hair. Maybe they're just older, or their own misadventures have turned their hair white! "Big Daddy" Nelson (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Joe Vig's Twin Sisters

(...) I think you've just set the bar pretty high as far as monetary worth for a single vignette. It might be cool if we made some kind of Joe Vig family reunion, where everybody has that face...and, of course, they're all getting into bizarre (...)   Re: Doraemon (ProjectD)

(...) It's funny that when you build his head from top to bottom, the temporary supports looks like his ears. (...) I have been following the progress pics on Brickshelf for a while. Superb job! Two thumbs up! (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: Doraemon (ProjectD)

(...) That's also why he's blue. He was originally yellow when he was built (in the robot factory), but after the mice bit his ears off, he cried too much and turned blue.... :) (...) I love the sculpture. It's pretty awesome. I remember seeing (...) (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Doraemon (ProjectD)

(2 URLs) Doraemon - he is one of the most famous ANIME character in Japan. He is a cat-type robot and he comes from the future - 22th century. Cat? Why he doesn't have ears? He was bitten his ears by a mouse! He has a pouch on his tummy which can (...) (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.build, FTX) !!

  Star Wars Vignette

I don't recall having seen any Star Wars vignettes (well other than the storyteller sets), so I thought I'd try doing some of my own. Maybe I'm the first, I'm pretty sure I'm the first StarWars Vignette at lugnet.build.vignette. So anyhow, here's (...)   Joe Vig's Twin Sisters

I was inspired to build a little vignette after reading Nelson Yrizarry's perils of Joe Vig. "The street corner held an chance encounter for Joe when he bumped into his twin sisters and their new boyfriends." You can tell they're Joe's sisters (...)   Re: U.S.S. Missouri (for real this time!)

(...) Dan- As expected, it's gorgeous. The Ulithi (pacific) 44/45 camoflauge came out really nicely, though some of the details are hard to make out because of the shake in the images. I'm looking forward to seeing more detailed shots taken at your (...) (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Completed USS Missouri sneak peak...

(...) I gave the USS Duluth to my dad... so it's safe from the parts canibals (for now!). The Missouri is actually a slightly larger scale, so it would dwarf it if they were to be displayed side-by-side. A whole screen of Gearing class destroyers (...)   U.S.S. Missouri (for real this time!)

OK, I got up early today and managed to get the photos from last weekend's GMLTC showing in La Crosse posted... including the long awaited (mostly) finished U.S.S. Missouri model. It's nearly 8 feet long, which prompted me to build a custom stand (...) (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military) !!

  Re: German WW2 Transport Truck

(...) Follow-ups to the actual build: (URL) Sdkfz 251 is taking point. Rebuilds should probably sprinkle some dark gray in for more contrast, IE bottom plates and wheels. I also couldn't find any 4x2 wedges in bricks, just plates. (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: U.S.S. Vignette

(...) Steve, That's a pretty cool idea, akin to the moonbase project. Do you have an overall layout you are building out to? Ed (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.town, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Completed USS Missouri sneak peak...

(...) Wow. Never seen her in the camo either. Is the USS Duluth still able to provide support (or a parts donation)? Great to to see some new postings here. Ed (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: The Brick Testament: Ehud and Shamgar / book signing tomorrow

Hi, Daan. Thanks for the typo report. The text has once again been made infallible. -Brendan (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: Two Vignettes and a Funeral

(...) Those were all very good, especially the beach one. The Southern California wave rider in me came out when I saw it. Question- Did you intentionally make it look like the surfer is going to go over the falls? A nice accent if you did. Adr.
