  Re: Vignette - Elbonian Airlines

(...) Sign me UP! This is great. You really captured the essence of Dilbert with about 25 bricks. Thanks Brian (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  More microstuff

After mod: (3 URLs) The new mecha are better proportioned than the older ones, and they hold together much better. The blue one looks like a gremlin, so I named it appropriately. Enjoy! Chris (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Kabaya Ghost Stories

(...) Thanks, Bruce! To amswer some of your questions: 1. The original toys are made of both soft and hard plastics. With the exception of the tunnel vignette which came in one piece, they all had to be assembled a bit, but not too much. 2. In the (...) (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Evolution of the minifig

Hi Bruce (...) It looks really very good, I think. The only (minor!) thing I think would make a neat addition would be a nod at the ever-increasing number of colours in which minifig parts are available. A 1978 group shot vs. a 2005 one would be (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

  Re: Evolution of the minifig

(...) Thanks, Andrew. I've edited the essay to include both of those changes. Bruce (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

  Re: Evolution of the minifig

(...) Nifty! You might want to consider adding how initially, minifigs were used as children for maxi-figs. And it's not terribly important to evolution, but how the little stripes are drawn onto the neck-peg for proper face rotation. Hm. Also COULD (...)   Re: Evolution of the minifig

(...) Bruce, Good writeup you have there. I enjoyed the brief history lesson/refresher course. As for omissions, I think you forgot to finish this sentence: (...) "...will be represented with true skintones (i.e. shades of "peach/flesh" and (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

  Re: Teknomeka Instructions

(...) The best thing about the Teknomeka instructions for experienced mecha builders is that they offer a base of joint tech that has been made very robust over several generations to support mecha from 2-2.5 feet tall. If you haven't built at this (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Teknomeka Instructions

(...) Thanks. From three years ago, seems like just yesterday: (URL) So I calculate that it took 3x365x24 = 26280 hours! ;-) K (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Evolution of the minifig

Hi all, I've written up a history of the (URL) evolution of the minifig>. Please let me know what you think, and if I've missed anything really important. Bruce (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

(...) David, As the others have said, Welcome & Wow. I saw a good amount of your gallery the day it was posted to the weblog on Zemi.net and it's great to place a (full) name and person with the creations. I had a post written and ready to submit on (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Teknomeka Instructions

(...) Unbelievable! Your gundams really blew my socks off when I first started looking around Lugnet...I remember examining your joint tech for gundams 01 and 02, always wondering how everything fit together... Now I have the opportunity to see (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

(...) <snip> These are very impressive mecha. I'm amazed at how quickly a newcomer can turn out some quality models. I look forward to seeing how your style evolves... Later, Chris (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Kabaya Ghost Stories

(...) I was thinking the same thing as I was reading the stories and looking at the mocs. I don't think I would have every described a lego creation as creepy before. Well done. All of them are nicely built with nifty techniques. In particular, I (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Teknomeka Instructions

(...) Wow Brian! This is absolutely impressive work! I haven't been on these forums in some time but this level of execution definitely requires me to come out of the woodwork. You're a brave man to put together an instruction set for a 4000 piece (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Kabaya Ghost Stories

(...) I don't care if i'm the third person in a row to say this...but, WoW!!! Really good stuff man. You accuracy from those candy toy to Lego bricks is precise and excellent. Well done, good capture of mood... you managed to grasp the eerie and (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

  Re: Teknomeka Instructions

(...) If you build one, I'd really like to see pictures of your progress. As for what's next, I think I'm going to try to make a 70s or early 80s style giant robot skin for the Teknomeka skeleton, to see how versatile it is. If it looks good, I'll (...)   Re: The Brick Testament: Othniel the First Judge of Israel

Hey Brendan, Great as always. Bethel: In 1:25 I really like the steps going down. Your MOCs usually start on a baseplate and go up, so it's nice to have one with depth. In the last pic, it's nice that the baby also follows the Bethel color scheme. (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: Kabaya Ghost Stories

Hey Pat, Wow! Vignette prowess really runs deep in the Yrizarry family gene pool! There is so much coolness about this series of vignettes: The mere fact that these LEGO vignettes are based on ??? (porcelain?) vignettes. The way you matched the figs (...) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)
