  Re: Using an RCX

(...) You should post a few pictures of your clock mechanism. I would really like to see how you incorporated the RCX with the pendulum in your design. This idea seems more practical for a long term running clock then having to wind up weights every (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC's on my websites

(...) It looks like a Belville part. 5890 has two, one yellow, one white. I've also seen it in a few other sets I think (5808 has one I think, 5895 has one, 3117 has two), 3115 has an even bigger table (which is in two halves). (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

(...) that (...) Yep, thanks for that! I really liked all your creations, especially the Jusar Keep and the mountain. I was wondering about a couple of things, though: -How did you make that double staircase? It's truly amazing and if you could (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

  Using an RCX

Good idea, I have built a prototype pendulum clock using the RCX that has a realistic tick tock sound and swinging pendulum. Instead of weights it uses the RCX to give the pendulum a 'kick' every second, this allows it to run indefinetly. Now I just (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO grandfather clock

(...) Great job Eric! Until now, I had never thought of LEGO as practical furniture, but you have proven otherwise! I really like your "broken pendiment" chippendale top. When LEGO Direct starts selling Bulk LEGO, I might have a go at it with brown (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO grandfather clock

Correct, the top is open... to allow some access in case there is some trouble with the gear assembly or something. Plus, at 7 feet off the ground, you can't see the top anyway. eric (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Gripe about arches

This is probably not the first time its been mentioned, but I have a complaint about the rounded arches LEGO makes. Has anyone else noticed that the arches with the side plate don't all play well together? The two smaller sizes can be used together (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO grandfather clock

(...) That's what I'd always figured. I would love to see all of your sculptures together, perhaps with you standing in the middle. That would be cool. One question about the clock, from your second set of photos I got the impression that the top is (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

I do not take any of my sculptures apart, no. eric (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

craig hamilton wrote in message ... (...) pun! (...) Exactly. I was quite impressed with how you use plates and bricks sideways, and these Roman numerals are great. Excellent work! BTW, you're not planning to take your clock apart to supply pieces (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Pics of MOC Lego phone!

Here are some pictures of the Lego phone I built. I have a couple of problems with it, which will require buying another phone for parts to fix, but it dose work, and I'm proud of that! Click on the picture of the phone (URL) to our homepage (Lego (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Pythagorean Triads and Almost-Triads

(...) Oh great, another one of our geeky debates! 8^) (...) Do we know this for a fact? The LEGO hinge bricks are pretty snug. The joint is a Technic peg, but it is fixed to one brick. And you can't even disassemble the hinge plates. In spite of (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO grandfather clock

Well I must say along with everyone else... Wow! That's bloody amazing! I would love to see that in person. Have you thought about applying to Lego yet? (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

another small house (a la David Eaton's Teeny Shack)

Here is a small house built after viewing David Eaton's Teeny Shack (URL) I tried to build this to display the idea I had for a thatched roof using the stickered piece from 6033 Treasure Transport. I also tried to make a window with brown shutters (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO grandfather clock

Too much trouble to thread monofilament thru the chain... if I'm gonna use a non-lego element (the filament)... I'll use it as simply as possible (w/o the chain). Plus the thread chain would not mesh well with the gears. eric (...) ---...--- Eric (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

I think I'm with the rest of the group when I say WOW!!!...!!! Eric, you want to come to my house and play??? and hopefully some of your wonderous talent will rub off on me? When are you going to go work for Lego and build us some truely awe (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO grandfather clock

Eric, I can only echo the sentiments of the masses and say..."WOW!" Well, OK...maybe I can add a pointer too. You said that you wished to use lego chains for the weights but had to use monofilament because the chains weren't up to the job. Why not (...)   Re: New MOC's on my websites

Glad you all liked it, I'm waiting for a nicer (warm, sunny) day here so I can take it outside and get some better pics, They are pretty dark :( I did lighten them up some in Paint shop pro.. though I think they are still a little to dark, if I go (...)
