  RE: Ribbed panel construction idea

There are 2 versions of the 1x2 with handles...1 is dropped by 1/2 a plate height and the other is level. -----Original Message----- From: news-gateway@lugnet.com [mailto:news-gateway...net.com]On Behalf Of Jason J Railton Sent: Thursday, March 25, (...)   Re: Ribbed panel construction idea

(...) I meant that I thought the newer version wasn't entirely level either, but I could be wrong. Jason Railton (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: New Mecha - The Klymyth

(...) I understand what you are saying. I think this depends on the vertical range of the gait. The higher rise of the feet, the more the quad tips when using three feet to balance. Could you please educate me about "gait matrix"? I've not heard of (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) I had thought that, t would reduce the rare piece count but would reduce the strength (actually it reduced it in one direction and increase it in another, hmm does it even need the strength there?)   Re: Ribbed panel construction idea

(...) It's an interesting idea. You could alternate 5-studded 'dalek' bricks with 1-stud technic 'tumble-dryer' bricks along the centre line. Have you tried building this for real yet though? I thought that all the 1x2 plates with handles had at (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Ribbed panel construction idea

While working out how to do the ribbed sides common on many modern locomoives I hit upon using this part (URL) After a serious of experiments to get the offset right I eventually came up with this design (URL) This basis can be scaled to suit, this (...)   Re: New Mecha - The Klymyth

(...) It depends on what you mean by inherently stable. In a mathematical world of pinpoint feet, the two feet on the ground might not be stable, but a Lego four legged walker probably wouldn't keel over while following a gait matrix. In the worst (...)   Re: New Mecha - The Klymyth

(...) ahhhhem. Quadrapeds are only inherently stable if the feet are big enough. If you break the four legs into two leg groups, worst case scenario is two feet on the ground. You'd better makes sure the center of gravity is within the diagonal (...) (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

Hey Brendan, Good stuff as always. I like the way you made the vineyard--good subtle detail with the smaller leaf elmenets in the first shot, then larger ones at harvest time.   Re: Neptune's Moon Lagoon

(...) Now then, don't be silly. It obviously utilises a hydrostatic integrity field to enhance the surface tension and prevent boiling. This is clearly evident from how the swimmer is fully suspended, even though he hardly breaks the surface. If you (...)
