Keith, I have no horse and I'm not high. I never said I was the arbiter of anything nor do I claim to be. You asked for unbiased opinions and you got mine. How can you possibly say you don't like it, Mr. Smack-Daddy? YOU ASKED FOR IT. And yes, Mark, (...) (22 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Originally I thought of using 2x1 plates with one stud to get a 1/2 stud value, but your 6/5/5 idea is probably (much) better. The precise value is 6/5.1/5.1 so here the pentagons will be taut and flat. There is probably enough slack in the (...) (22 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

(...) Thanks! I was very surprised at the strength of Steve's method of joining the triangles. If you're making something *really* large, you might have to brace each triangle with a second set of hinges on the corners. Don't know how well it shows (...) (...) Yup, I realize that now. Holding the big ball in your hands can really make those ideas clear! The problem is, how to do it within the limits of the "Lego System"? I want to experiment with other triangle sizes, and see what happens and what (...) (22 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Mmm... smack! Dig the MOC too, you know. Good to see you doin' some inside detailing. But there was no way around it this time, I suppose :) True the Mech is not brilliant, but it get's the job done. Alan, My record is less than spotty, as I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but I liked this one a lot so I thought I'd respond. As a fan of lego stop-motion-animation, this is desperately needed.
