Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks

(...) Hi Sean, Very nice. I really like the Citigroup Tower (& Church...nice) and the UN. Both very nicely done. That day you and I met outside the Citigroup Tower I really noticed how impressive it really is....and you've captured it well. Very (...)   Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks

The one I was thinking of was this: (URL) same author (Stephen Biesty) has done several others, one on a castle, another on a ship, etc. There's a similar one that is just about an apartment building, but I can't find it. If you look around the (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

  New Mech Previews

Hey all- A few preview pics of what's to come... (URL) full galleries of all the new mechs are coming soon. All are real Battletech mechs, two are designs that (I think) are previously un-attempted. PLMKWYT! Ryan (URL) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha (finally...)

Wow, that is very cool, Mladen! Good to see a new mech from you. The legs look really nice- the detailing and greeblies on them work well. The big gun is great too, and the dishes at the back of the MTP really work well- they remind me of those on (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks

(...) Stefan: Glad you liked them! Yeah, the "1x2 plate with center stud" ( (URL) ) is really your best friend when doing this sort of thing. And other tricks...like the very top of the Empire State Building: I have a 1x2 brick set atop a 1x1 brick, (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) Hey Amy, Yeah, I wouldn't take what the Slashdotters and the like have to say as anything even remotely disturbing. I think they may be picking on the subject and your dedication to your pet, which are things that high-flying twenty-somethings (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks

(...) LOL! :) Yeah, these buildings are a vast departure from my 5-foot-tall skyscrapers and whatnot... probably better too, because it saves me a lot of money and they're quick to build! :) Glad you liked them. Sean (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks

(...) That's my favorite, too. The Citigroup building didn't look like much of anything until I started adding the subterrania, and now I love the way it came out. It works well, since the recessed plaza under the tower butts up against the subway (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks

(...) I actually spent a little time working on a Chrysler Building at this scale, but I gave up after fighting with the tiny scale that I was working at. But you've given me a reason to give it another shot, so I'll let you know if anything comes (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Mecha (finally...)

Well Mladen, what can i say? it's nice to see you back in the saddle, and riding hard as usuall... by the way, this new multi-legger is...well...um...big! what the dimensions on this sucker? (stud x stud) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

Thanks, Scott. I don't really care what people say about it or me, since even those who find it as a result of some disparaging post seem to enjoy it, judging by the email I get. You'll note I've quoted a few of the more amusing comments on the FAQ (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Mecha (finally...)

Hey man, this looks awesome! I think I like it better than your other platforms. This colour scheme works really well, it makes it feel very militaryish, as these colors did on the wolf. (...) Amy & All, (...) various forums and what not, this is one of the reasons I don't really do any outside of LUGNET and MichLUG of course. : ) I just want to say your all of your work, especially this project, is simply awesome, it is a beautiful (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks

Very cool. I like the detail you've managed to put into them at this small a scale. The underground detail completes the models, IMO. Nice. -Stefan- (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Abston Church of Christ

Well, it's been up for a month and a half and is handling the traffic okay, so I thought I might risk an announcement... The Abston Church of Christ is back online. I've added some "...for dummies" style explanations about minifigs and other stuff (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.announce.moc) !

  Re: New Mecha (finally...)

(...) Thanks Chris! Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking of when building the machine guns. I wanted them to look like the jaws of a spider, on this mecha. (...) Thanks again, I put a lot of work into the legs. They are my number one priority (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha (finally...)

(...) Thanks Jon! (...) Heh, yeah I figured people were starting to worry (lol, well not worry exactly, I'm not *that* important!), so I decided to build something big again...   Sorting tray suggestion.

Hi! I've read a lot of threads about what to use when sorting and/or building. Most seem to favour the old plastic trays that came with larger sets. I got another idea when I was doing some serious cleaning in the kitchen. In our drawers we have (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.build)
