Re: Sorry if we have met under bad circumstances.

(...) In response to your letter, yes, I was trying to get into contact with you directly because being direct is the best way a person can get their point across in life. I also saw that you mentioned that you needed bright green and purple pieces (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Try again...

It's a very cool building, not really my style though. As soon as I saw it, it reminded me of the building on this page: (URL) tried looking for a larger picture of it, but I can't find any. (It doesn't help that I don't know what it's called, or (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New Pics for Sliding door MOC.

(...) Still, it's very innovative. Thanks for the update. (...) Good point. However, it wouldn't need to do so. You could put a plate hinge on the top of the door and have it simply hinge to the side. The other "runner" on the top would be on the (...)   Re: BUILDER'S BLOCK - AHHH...HHH!

I'd suggest trying to build in a different theme for a bit. Rather than make a new space ship, try making a garbage truck or a medieval castle or a technic crane or a mecha or something. That will help clear out your space-mind. Also, you might find (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Influence of heat treatment on Lego® bricks + minifigs

Hi all! Have you ever thought abou the maximum washing temperature for dirty Lego® bricks? At what temperature will Lego® bricks get damaged - for e.g. in summer in your car or in your house's Lego® room under the roof? I did the ultimate test (...)   Re: BUILDER'S BLOCK - AHHH...HHH!

(...) Well, this happens to me a lot, unfortunately, but I've found a sure fire way to get over builders block. One: Don't watch your sci-fi DVDs. To tell you the truth, when I watch science fiction series, I notice that a lot of people like to rip (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  Re: Temple of Shan-Ta-Ree

(...) While not exactly the same, in a similar usage, Tony Hedglen had a fountain in his area in the MichLUG display at GATS in January. He actually raised the area it was on, so they could light up. Most of the kids and a number of the adults got a (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build, lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: BUILDER'S BLOCK - AHHH...HHH!

No one else seems to have suggested this, but it always works for me: Start with a *limited* amount of pieces. I always find that necessity breeds invention, though others may disagree. With me, I have my pieces mostly sorted, but there is a large (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: So what *IS* a Building Instruction anyway?

[ XFUT lugnet.cad ] (...) Yes, but sometimes it is not exactly in an ideal form for the renderers we have at hand today. It would for example be practical, if it was possible: * to tell the renderer that something ought to be rendered as a (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.cad)

  Gnarlbark the Treant

I just thought I'd share with the lugnet community my latest creature MOC. It is a treant I call Gnarlbark. In case you don't know what a treant is, I'll quote from my officially official AD&D Monstrous Manual (which is where I get a lot of my (...)   Re: So what *IS* a Building Instruction anyway?

(...) Sure -- I'd say an accurate ldraw file is a very detailed document, specifying exactly what is in a model, and how it's put together. You can manually step through any model file; in MLCAD, change your settings to only display up to the (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Temple of Shan-Ta-Ree

(...) You got it right the first time. Since Lego has made few animals and animal type flags. I had to use the flags from the Knights line with the lion faces on them. So with that in mind, came the two cat statues that stand at the entrance. keep (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

  Re: Temple of Shan-Ta-Ree

(...) Ankor was just one of the structures that inspired me. I had originally intended to focus on one type of architecture because I was afraid that by trying to blend different types together, the project wouldn't look as good. But I found that as (...)
