Hmm.. it may have something to do with the apparent stereotype that anime is just a mere baby's cartoon. It has to do with the fact that anime are often connected with mecha, as several cartoons are based on such creations (Gundam series, Zoids, (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
