  Re: Griswold Place

Chris, Not bad for a guy who played sports;) That is one super building, I mean, wow it's realy big! I like the flag with WTC on the back! Great work, keep it up. Happy Holidays... Robin Werner www.gfltc.org (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Griswold Place

(...) This is a pleasure to see in person. If you can get to the Detroit area for January GATS come see this thing in the flesh ... err... plastic. Despite the skilled photography :-) the web-size pics don't do it justice. It'll look great in the (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Griswold Place

(...) Wow! All I can say is that I am rendered almost speechless by the size and scale you are working at. Beautiful model!! -H. (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Blacktron Contest Note

Hi, Just checking the site at... (URL) (or Jude), the Vengeance under Catagory VII is listed as being my creation, when it is not. I think it is Paul Hanson's, as indicated by the link... (URL) entry is the Terrorformer for Catagory V, which was (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: Griswold Place

(...) Very impressive! Let me echo the compliments the others have made, and add a few more things I liked: The (removable!) clear glass roof over the center lobby. I've envisioned one of these in my mind, but it's great to see one actually (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOC: Artist's Studio Retreat (ISCC Entry)

(...) There are lots of great entries in the ISCC. I keep looking everyday to see if there are any new models. I'm glad you gave us a sneak preview. (...) Great work, as usual! I don't know much about architecture styles, but I know a great Lego (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: New mecha: Minotaur

(...) Thanks Bobby. I got Mavica FD87. I like it, but I still yearn for that manual focus. I haven't figured out how to best take extreme closeups yet. (people in .publish.photography, any help here?) (...) Yeah, this is a far cry from your usual 2 (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: Griswold Place

(...) Wow! I raved about this already on the list but have to give my public props too... what *I* find most impressive is that you managed to build this beaut when only 1x2 and 2x4 are available in bulk from LD. That you did those corners without (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Griswold Place

(...) I really like it! It looks like a real building. The colors are perfect. I would have attempted to use brown 1x2 log bricks instead of 1x2 regular bricks for the corners to add some (more) detail. The inner court yard is impressive. I like the (...)   Re: New MOC: Hotel Ambassador - (ISCC)

(...) David, Very nice, I liked all the interior details. Did you ever think about adding a fire escape, maybe out of techniq parts for that spidery steel look? Thanks, George (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: Griswold Place

Wow, very nice work Chris. You've created a impressive sturcture with a simple design. I'm sure it will make a great addition to the club layout. jt (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

Best Minifig Head *EVER*! (Plus 2002 Sets Under The Christmas Tree)

OH MY GAWD! Santa was kind enough to leave me a small assortment of 2002 LEGO sets this Christmas (read: I found 'em...I bought 'em...wife can complain all she wants!). I have 4790, 4791, 4792, 4582 and 4585 gracing my desk now. I just have to say (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general)

Re: The Terrorformer! (BT1 Contest Entry)

Odd replying to my own post. Just thought of two silly things I forgot to mention: 1. It's too bad my photos were not a bit more clear. Those that have the soldiers with visors open fail to show how I have altered all my BT1 figs to have arched (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  The Terrorformer! (BT1 Contest Entry)

Hi all! My submission to the BT1 Space Building Contest Catagory 5... (URL) those in control, I suggest the use of this thumbnail...   Re: New MOC: Artist's Studio Retreat (ISCC Entry)

(...) I must say, the model does successfully capture the "feel" of a Le Corbusier building. I went to Clemson Univ. in Clemson, South Carolina for architecture (or "architorture" as we called it); a lot of the professors were heavily into the (...)   Re: STATUE OF LIBERTY ?!

(...) I was going to order one too, but not knowing that it was about to go AWOL, I decided to go for a Metroliner instead. Grrrr! :-) Well, Brad, I'd definitely buy one if it was available again... regards, Chris. (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.general)

  Re: New mecha: Minotaur

(...) The pictures look great, which camera did you get? (...) Lovely, this is really something (but then again you alrady know that). Sorry I can't offer more comments, but I really don't have any expertise in origami mecha. (...) So this is what (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: Hotel Ambassador - (ISCC)

You are correct that the crank is for the elevator. One of those unseen but cool details. The "L" shape of the upper floors was a common practice in the early 20th century and I like the added realism it gives. Thanks for the comments! David Kohrman (...)
