Re: Me163 - WWII German Rocket Fighter

(...) Thanks Lindsay, I appreciate the comments. I was trying to get the wings a bit more accurate by sweeping them slightly, but it was way too flimsy. I might try it again one of these days. (...) Ha, good point :). I guess this one would be the (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Me163 - WWII German Rocket Fighter

(...) Thanks, I appreciate the nice comments. (...) Hmm, not sure yet. German aircraft of that era had a lot of style, which is why I like to model them, but there's a few Allied aircraft I'm thinking of doing. There's a few more German planes I'd (...)   Re: Small Medieval City Building

Sorry for the double post. Rendered Instructions and DAT file now available, if anyone is interested. (URL) sure that I made FAR too many steps, but I figure using BrickShelf, people can just skip to what they want to see anyway. Thanks to Jeff Boen (...)   Re: Red Baron's Albatros DIII

(...) I do admit keeping the wheel design, although without cross bracing like the Sopwith Camel has, and the upper wing is almost identical except above the cockpit. (why change what works best?) The cockpit was also much more difficult because of (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: Red Baron's Albatros DIII

(...) Nice triplanes! How is the comma tale made, exactly? I don't konw of enough pieces to fill it in and make it solid. Thanks, George (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: Me163 - WWII German Rocket Fighter

(...) I can't wait to see your engines on the Me-262, I'm having trouble envisioning them in minifig scale. George (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Red Baron's Albatros DIII

Hi Ben, I didn't know that Richthofen also flew a bi-plane. Your model is very nice and it is in fact lots of fun to transfer the "set of the year" into a own creation. Do you know the Fokker DR I from Vancouer / Canada: (URL) my personal version of (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: Red Baron's Albatros DIII

(...) Thank you Drew for your praise. I had always wanted to build this model and spent three days constructing and reconstructing the plane. I am a perfectionist and not totally happy with the plane's fuselage and nose but it was really fun to (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Red Baron's Albatros DIII

(cross-posted to lugnet.military as well) I saw yesterday when I was browsing Brickshelf's Recent stuff, and i was wondering if you would post it to Lugnet. (so we can shower you with praise for such an excellent model) You did a great job on it, I (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Me163 - WWII German Rocket Fighter

(...) Dude!! Thats awesome!! You did a great job on that model, my friend. The nosecone is simply inspired! BTW, just a detail, the Me163 was also known as the "Komet." (...) Nope, I've already started on the Me-262 ^_^ `Drew (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Red Baron's Albatros DIII

(...) I would have thought it easier to do the boxier Fokker D7 than the curvy Albatross, but I recognized the plane right away! Great job. Bruce (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: GG Mech update

True. I do have one of those robo rider worm gear boxes in the ankle though. (URL) shocks only take up a little of the slack, I figure if the weight starts to prove beyond the ability of the joint I'll add another set of shocks at another angle or (...)
