Re: New mechs for your approval

(...) Thanks, I try to make them intimidating. Also, I've been improving my look, mech by mech. Trying to get a nice balance and proportion vs. beliveability and playability. Get all that and try to have enough colors to make it look good. It's a (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New mechs for your approval

(...) Thanks, I've always had a soft spot for chainguns. I just can't seem to help myself. I'll say to myself, "ok, enough. Lets move on." And as soon as I abandon the idea for something a little less, (shall we say) dramatic, BOOM! The ideas roll (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: FDNY--3rd street station

jonathan, you were wishing for a "brick colored brick". How do you think the sand-red works as "bricks" for this MOC? It's a subdued color like the other sands, and until I printed it out I thought it was gray and your photograph had a red shift (or (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

  Re: BMW 10001 Hits

(...) I think Kevin discussed this in the past. IIRC, I thought an image is counted based on the hits to the image page but a folder is counted based on the hits to the folder PLUS hits to all the pages in the folder. So a folder with lots of pages (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general)

Re: we want....a shrubbery! one that looks nice... and not too expensive

(...) Yes you're right except it wasn't Steve I don't think, it was the designer, I still have his card somewhere. (...) Yes... I think bringing out one pack of 4 colors was better than bringing out a pack that just had one. This is a kind of part (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: When is a Slope not a Roof Tile? (WAS: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) I call them "low slopes" or "33 degree slopes" (even though they are not EXACTLY 33 degrees, just like the "45 degree slopes" aren't exactly 45) I forget what LEGO calls them. I don't think any have ever been sold as a single part bulk item, (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Jack Stone figs and Minifigs . . .

I was looking at these Jack Stone figures in a display the other day and was surprised to find that they were much smaller than I imagined. Man, that is cool looking, the feet are kick-arse, the way those red engine pods meld into the feet really are cool, you really make great "Walker Mechs". The entire look of the Mech is just great.   Re: BMW 10001 Hits

(...) As an aside, you mentioned the greatest hits page on Brickshelf-- I'm curious to know how those folders featured there are ordered, because they don't appear to be by quantity of hits. Anyone know? Kevin?;-) -John (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general)

  Re: BMW 10001 Hits

Congratulations, Bryce! This mecha is well deserving of the 10000 club honor if ever a mecha was deserving of it. Thanks Eric for bringing this monumentous event to our attention. -Dave (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: When is a Slope not a Roof Tile? (WAS: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) Agreed. That was the point I was hoping to make. :) (...) I hope you don't include black in this list. Or red. Or yellow. So many fire trucks to build.... so little time. All the best, Allan (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: When is a Slope not a Roof Tile? (WAS: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) They are roof slopes, but the 33 degree kind. Also known as the low slope roof bricks. Personally, I'd love to see these released in Sand Red as well... Down with all the old colors! Orf with 'er 'ed! -Dave (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: we want....a shrubbery! one that looks nice... and not too expensive

(...) Definitely. Another item for the list - mosiacs, I built one this summer and being able to offset things by a half added tons of detail. The thing was, I ran out at some point!.... I guess I won't have to fret over it! The trees sound tasty (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)
