Re: Ogel's Secret Urban Base in Bricktopia

In lugnet.announce, Brad Hamilton writes: (snipped) (...) Hi, Brad! Ok, here goes: I love the whole concept of the Zombie-Building, but what makes it even better is the storyline... are you a writer, or something? ;-) My highlights would be the (...) (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Shinkitsune, fun with the 7314 recon mech set

Hey, that's cool! Like I've said before, what you do is really amazing. When you restrict your part supply, you are challenging yourself. Thanks for sharing that with us Joseph! (...) (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Ogel's Secret Urban Base in Bricktopia

(...) Brad, as always, excellent. So does this mean that you are going to greatly expand Bricktopia beyond the railroad tracks? Haven't you run out of space yet? :) - Steve (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Springs?

(...) Went to both Home Depot and Lowes the other day and it was a bust. All their springs are much to large. I'll have to try Ace. Thanks for the info guys. sun (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Shinkitsune, fun with the 7314 recon mech set

(...) Another one of Joseph's amazing alternates! :^) That's a nice compact model. I think LEGO would do well to pay attention to what you just designed here. It's a good use of parts that would make for a nice low-price-point set, IMO. ~Grand (...) (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Ogel's Secret Urban Base in Bricktopia

(...) As always, Brad, your building looks excellent. And part of the fun of looking at your new MOCs is reading the descriptions. I like the OGEL factory premise, and the "Zombie-Doze" Very good! ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New building MOC

(...) Hi Cary, The only 1/2 stud use on the grey building was on the window sill of the arched windows. The first version of this building did have each 'level' separated by a 1/2 stud trim line, but I ran out of grey tiles so I made it a full stud (...) I like your effort a lot. Are the various brick insets on the building facade 1/2 stud? If so, how did you accomplish that? Cary (...) (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

  New building MOC

Hello, I finished the facade of a new building. I was inspired by a building on the corner of 6th ave & 15th street in NYC, and the end result looks nothing like the real thing. :o/ Either way, I am very happy with the way it came out, particularly (...)   Re: Ogel's Secret Urban Base in Bricktopia

Beautiful building! The repeated curves really reinforce the design. I especially like the black inverted curves alternating with the red curves of the “tower” portion, subtle and very nice. I also like the use of the two colors, there is a strong (...) (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Ogel's Secret Urban Base in Bricktopia

(...) Very nice! Tall. I like how you used a cut out base plate & then followed that cut out all the way up. I also like you use of parts that I consider useless....gets my mind going & helps me to be more creative, thanks. Jonathan (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Ogel's Secret Urban Base in Bricktopia

As always your buildings are impressive. I really like the use of those inverse arches. Those must have been tricky to attach. The story is entertaining too. (...) (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Ogel's Secret Urban Base in Bricktopia

Hi, Brad. Very, very nice work. That red and black moulding is really sweet. And I like the red fence that curves its way through the garden. Nice use of the Life On Mars alien arms for the receptionist's chair. I like the way the birthing chamber (...) (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)
