Re: Yellow Low Sloped Corner Bricks?

(...) Luckily, no they're not Tyco. The seller, who lives in Israel, used to work for LEGO, and got these in a special order. (SPECIAL ORDER???...???!!!!!) Gary Istok (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Taking apart pirtate ship hulls

I was just starting my inventory of 6493, Flying Time Vessel, and noticed that the pirate ship hulls are held together with screws, so I decided to try and take them apart. The stern section was held by 4 screws, and easily came apart. (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  RE: New MOC: Beach Buggy

(...) (URL) again, Fredrik raises the bar on the combination of mechanical design and graphical presentation with the beach buggy. Have a look at his articulated truck, too. Beautiful. Cheers, Ralph Hempel - P.Eng ---...--- A picture is worth a (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  New MOC: Beach Buggy

I've made a Technic Beach Buggy with independent front suspension. It is made in the Technic LEGO style, meaning that the body is not full; it is only outlined by the Technic bricks. I'm not too happy with the front windscreen and the seats, but (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Yellow Low Sloped Corner Bricks?

(...) Right, gotcha. Sorry for the confusion. I agree with you, the name "gable end" for that piece is confusing. What's better? 1x2 hip roof end? 1x2 half pyramid? Or the LDRAW name, Slope Brick 45 1 x 2 Triple? I don't know. John C. ps. To muddy (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Yellow Low Sloped Corner Bricks?

(...) I have tons of black Tyco 1 x 3 slopes - probably as many as actual LEGO ones. It's a pity that the Tyco slopes have the extra ridge halfway down the slope which makes the look good only for roofing. (Even though most people here think that (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Yellow Low Sloped Corner Bricks?

(...) This isn't the piece I was referring to... the one you just described is the one Gary said Rob F calls a "gable connector"... which is another misnomer, I think, since it connects rof peaks, not gables (which are at the outer end of a piece of (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Yellow Low Sloped Corner Bricks?

(...) I think it's called "gabled" because it is an otherwise normal 1x2 roof piece with a gabled overhang on one side, ie a vertical triangle like a gabled roof. So that name refers to the appearance of the piece not it's actual function which is (...) (25 years ago, 4-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)
