  Re: July and August Surprise

(I'm posting this to lugnet.build.mecha, 'cause I feel like it. No actually, because the dragons are built similarly to mecha.) WOW! I'm stunned! Wow! I've never seen 4 huge LEGO dragons all huddled together waiting to wreak havoc on a single LEGO (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: July and August Surprise

Just a simple crosspost because this truly belongs in .mecha. btw, I love Vildegraas-he looks like variant of a mecha I worked on around a year ago. He looks far better than mine, however.... -Dave LUGNET Member #524 HardCore's Haven (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

A good day for mecha? You decide...

Well, I've finished all the site building I'm doing today, but I needed to point out a little something for the .mecha folks. Not one, not two, but three previously unpublished mecha that were supposed to debut at the LUGOLA meeting on the 4th. (...) (...) Thanks for the help! I had not yet considered verdigris green yet. Hmmmm it should work, I'll see. (...) Yeah I considered the tan/brown combo, but that would be suiting more for a mescherschmidt (sp?) or maybe a p-40/p-47. (...) Imitation (...)   July and August Surprise

My friends, or whomever is out there, I give to you the second part of my july surprise, my august surprise.   Re: What colour should a Supermarine Spitfire be?

(...) G'day Geordan, You might be interested in trying the "verdigris" light green used in the Statue of Liberty set for the underside.   Re: What colour should a Supermarine Spitfire be?

I've settled on the colours after fiddlin with the CAD format of the spit, it's either going to be brown and green mixed together, or tan and green mixed. Neither of them look half bad IMO. (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: What colour should a Supermarine Spitfire be?

Thanks! Great pages with lots of pics! I've gotten about a three foot pile of books on WWII aircraft and spits over the past two weeks so I'm up to my knees in resources ( literally!)   Re: Ten Up

Cool! Ever since the minifig sculpture set came out, I've been thinking about how to build a gigantic scale version of one of the standard LEGO elements. Those pics are exactly what I had in mind. Rather than make a modified version of 3723, this (...) (23 years ago, 2-Aug-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: What colour should a Supermarine Spitfire be?

Yeah I thought of making the spitfire two tone of tan and green or something like that, but the results aren't very apealing, it is impossible to get smooth camo lines with lego, that's why I figured that I may do decals instead, I'm still (...)   Ten Up

I hope I'm not stealing any thunder... but in my usual nosing around in the BrickShelf recent gallery I ran across this (URL) nifty! I think what I like best is that the stuff appears to actually lock together at this large scale!!! (23 years ago, 2-Aug-01, to lugnet.build)
