Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) Thanks! I just love the design challenges that come up when making an alien MOC! Now if could only figureout how to make a Sea Monkey building.... Joe Meno (22 years ago, 20-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) Thanks! The 'bug eyes' give the Squidfin the sinister look along with the tentacles, I think. And you caught the tails being used as propellors! They can also hold things as well, with other propulsion units in the body that can be used, so (...) (22 years ago, 20-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

  Re: Major Cager: Intergalactic Poacher

(...) And you thought the fleebnorks had it bad?! If the Sea Monkeys aren't being caged up, people are discussing how to cook them. And people wonder why they declared war :) I'm very pleased to see the Sea Monkey name becoming a space/aquazone (...) (22 years ago, 20-Mar-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.aquazone)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) <snip> (...) Joe, The Squidfin is cool! It definitely has a sinister feel to it. Nice organic form too being that it's mainly bricks. The tails/propellers are great! I look forward to the Juggernaut. Btw, your Nautilus (had not seen it before) (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

  FTX graphic problems

(...) I can't get this graphic to work. Sometimes I'll bring my graphics into an editor to specify the dimensions, post it to brickshelf where its fine, but then when I deep link it in FTX, the size changes on the lugnet page. I've wanted to add (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.publish)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

Late respone, but bravo on this one. The SMs are evolving their own "look" now thanks to great models like these. (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

(...) Thanks! A compliment from one of the master crafters in Space is high praise indeed! (...) There's more to come...I have mre than a few ideas stewing in my head (...) Yes you do!:) I woul love to see your take on a SM vehicle or thing! Joe (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

I'd just like to say that Felix's whole seamonkey thing has revolutionized a whole category of building great work Meno, and i hope this fantheme (like PCS) continues to gain momentum someday i'll build some too just gotta ;-) -paul (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) Well, it's not much in terms of look (which is probably why I forgot to take pix) but I'll get a pic posted up soon. Joe Meno (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) Thanks! The clear stands work surprisingly well for make things "float". What's good is that the SMs have a one stud point on thier body to attach the stands. And the resemblance to the Nautilus wasn't as intentional as you may think...but I (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) Thanks! Originally, this was going to be an octopus-based 'thing', but I changed my mind when I decided to use orange bricks. My general thought on the SMs is that they make crafts that resemble natural creatures (sorta) but also use fear as a (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

Joe, I really like that submarine. It makes a nice baby brother to your Nautilus. I also really like the way you're putting the diorama together with clear stands to make the Sea Monkeys "float". Very cool MOC. Bruce (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

The Squidfin is a beaut Joe....a scary beaut, but a beaut nonetheless. The black and orange really give it a menacing look - almost like a tigershark from the old Looney Toons. Excellent photography on the diorama as well. Cheers, -Gil (...) (22 years ago, 12-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) You caught the 'homage'...there'salso a touch of the attack fish from Disney's Atlantis. Also the cockpit 'eye' is set up a lot like my Nautilus conning tower, but it's easier to build:) Thanks! Joe Meno (22 years ago, 11-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) I getthe feeling I'm building a seafood buffet:) (...) Thanks! It's taken a long time to figure how to use the parts, but I'm gettng the hang of it:) Bionicle parts seem to be really good for SMs...they are parts that can be used to look (...)   Re: Sea Monkey "Squidfin" Recon Pix....

(...) This one took a little time and ended up far different than I expected...the Squidfin was originally going to be a more literal squid deviant, but the fish body was something that I wanted to try out. It worked pretty well. And so the squid (...) (22 years ago, 11-Mar-03, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)
