New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Sean Kenney
All: Hi there, everyone! Over the weekend I made some super-tiny scale New York City landmarks. Each is no more than a few inches tall... I made the CitiGroup Center, the Empire State Building, the UN, and the Woolworth Building. The Citigroup (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town) !!

(...) (snip) (...) Awesome buildings! I'd like to be the first to request my favorite NYC skyscraper: the Chrysler Building! -Greg "Fox" Cook (22 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Gregory Cook
(...) Sliiiick. The views from below remind me (colorscheme-wise) of an old Atari 2600 game. Probably Superman or Spiderman, with 2 color skyscrapers you fly by/climb (whichever game it was, heh). Also: what is the red tower/object/eh? to the left (...)          Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Sean Kenney
(...) I actually spent a little time working on a Chrysler Building at this scale, but I gave up after fighting with the tiny scale that I was working at. But you've given me a reason to give it another shot, so I'll let you know if anything comes (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Bruce Hietbrink
Sean, All very cool. I think my favorite little detail is how you put the road and the subway into the first one. It reminded me of some of those cutaway diagrams by that guy who does the "Amazing Cross Sections" books that show you the building (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Sean Kenney
(...) That's my favorite, too. The Citigroup building didn't look like much of anything until I started adding the subterrania, and now I love the way it came out. It works well, since the recessed plaza under the tower butts up against the subway (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Bruce Hietbrink
The one I was thinking of was this: (URL) same author (Stephen Biesty) has done several others, one on a castle, another on a ship, etc. There's a similar one that is just about an apartment building, but I can't find it. If you look around the (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

(...) Yay...buildings in a scale I can recreate! (...) Citigroup Center before...and it has always fascinated me. (...) Very nice...fits in well with your others. (...) the other lanscaping details. (...) -Kevin (22 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Sean Kenney
(...) LOL! :) Yeah, these buildings are a vast departure from my 5-foot-tall skyscrapers and whatnot... probably better too, because it saves me a lot of money and they're quick to build! :) Glad you liked them. Sean (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Stefan Garcia
Very cool. I like the detail you've managed to put into them at this small a scale. The underground detail completes the models, IMO. Nice. -Stefan- (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Sean Kenney
(...) Stefan: Glad you liked them! Yeah, the "1x2 plate with center stud" ( (URL) ) is really your best friend when doing this sort of thing. And other tricks...like the very top of the Empire State Building: I have a 1x2 brick set atop a 1x1 brick, (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks —Jonathan Lopes
(...) Hi Sean, Very nice. I really like the Citigroup Tower (& Church...nice) and the UN. Both very nicely done. That day you and I met outside the Citigroup Tower I really noticed how impressive it really is....and you've captured it well. Very (...)
