Personal Orbital Insertion Vehicle —Brad Hamilton
This is a prototype space ship for the upcoming Bricktopia space port. Unfortunately, it turned out too big to use in such an urban landscape, so it will have to be relegated to remote launch sites. Here are the pictures: (URL) View: (URL) vehicle (...)      Good job Brad! Doesn't matter if its big, at least its cool! How long did it take you (HLDITY) to build it? Hasta La Vista, Sean (...) (22 years ago, 28-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Personal Orbital Insertion Vehicle —Brad Hamilton
(...) Thanks. It probably took me about 3 days, 2 hours each day. I was actually trying to play with the big red castle tops for use in a building, but nothing was coming to me and then I got the idea of using them as rockets. The MOC took off from (...)      (...) or solid fuel? The rocket scientist in me has to know! (...) And does the capsule have some sort of PSRE (Propulsion System/Rocket Engine) to manuever in orbit? Maybe some sort of liquid fuel system? Anyway, I think it's awesome to see a space (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Personal Orbital Insertion Vehicle —Brad Hamilton
(...) Thanks - I envisioned everything as being liquid-based. (...) There is a small rocket engine just for thrust. I suppose that there would have to be some sort of maneuvering rockets, but I was lazy. (...) Well, after this one turned out too (...) (22 years ago, 30-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Personal Orbital Insertion Vehicle —John Henry Kruer
Brad, that's really cool! I like how you incorparated all those 'castle' slopes and parts. The modularity is nice, as is the red color. It looks very 'near-future.' Though isn't the space capsule a bit small for all that power? -JHK (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Personal Orbital Insertion Vehicle —Brad Hamilton
(...) Thanks. Yep the capsule is small, but look at the relative rocket-to-capsule size of the Apollo space craft. Their comparitive capsule sizes are much smaller! (22 years ago, 30-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Personal Orbital Insertion Vehicle —Gil Shaw
That's a real eye-catcher Brad. The shape of the hull looks like something that would be able to withstand hull stress in the role you describe. The modularity of the stages are great too...excellent 'play value'. And of course, it just a cool, big (...) (22 years ago, 1-Oct-02, to lugnet.space)
