    Pyramid of Khafre —James Garrett
Greetings: As a member of MichLUG/MichLTC, I have been planning an ambitious building effort for next year's NMRA National Train Show in Detroit. I currently have three medium to large buildings in various stages of construction. After a while (...) (18 years ago, 24-Oct-06, to lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !!

Re: Pyramid of Khafre —Jonathan Lopes
(...) I am strongly considering a trip to Detroit for NMRA next year and look forward to seeing your new buildings. I definitely understand the roadblocks and down time waiting for parts to complete projects. I am trying to figure out solutions to (...) (18 years ago, 24-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Pyramid of Khafre —James Garrett
(...) Thanks for the comments. I would strongly recommend that you make the trip to 2007 NMRA. Are you a member of a Lego LTC? If not, I am sure we could work in some of your buildings into our display! -Jim (18 years ago, 25-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

(...) I am not a member of an LTC but if I am able to attend and am able to bring stuff, I'll let you know. Thanks for the offer. Jonathan (18 years ago, 25-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Pyramid of Khafre —Nathan Todd
Very nice! The scale s very impresive and I love the (relative) simplicity of the hatch. The cut away details are also very nice! Overall great work! God Bless, Nathan Visit my brickshelf gallery: (URL) (pic=link) (18 years ago, 24-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Pyramid of Khafre —Brendan Powell Smith
Wow, excellent, Jim! A stunning likeness. The capstones just at the top gives it a very authentic look. And the ruins at the bottom give it increased presence. The inner passage construction is impressive too. For comparison, it would be nice to see (...) (18 years ago, 25-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Pyramid of Khafre —James Garrett
(...) Thank you for your comments. A Lego model of the Pyramid representing it soon after completion would probably consist almost entirely of white slopes with a red layer at the bottom (according to one Egyptologist). The very tip might be yellow (...) (18 years ago, 25-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Pyramid of Khafre —Magnus Lauglo
James, Truly inspirational, showcasing simplicity at its best. How close is it to actual minifig scale (one stud equals one foot)? I don't suppose you have a sphinx project underway? ;) Thanks for sharing! Magnus (18 years ago, 25-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Pyramid of Khafre —James Garrett
(...) Thanks for your comments! Since my Lego model of the pyramid is only 82 studs per side (and 41 bricks high) and the real thing has a base measureing 705 feet per side, I would have to scale it up by a factor of 8.5 in linear dimension to (...)          Re: Pyramid of Khafre —Gerhard R. Istok
I agree Jim, It's not worth it to tear down your 2 Detroit Art Deco masterpieces, the David Stott Tower, and the Fisher Building complex! They're awesome! Gary Istok (18 years ago, 26-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Pyramid of Khafre —James Garrett
(...) Gary: I have no plans to tear those down (I would not want to get "Preservation Lego" on my case). I was actually refering to some other buildings of mine that are not based on any prototype but do use quite a bit of tan bricks. Niether of the (...)    (...) Very cool. I'd love to see it next to mine: (URL) is 64x64 studs. (18 years ago, 26-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)
