Truly inspirational, showcasing simplicity at its best. How close is it to actual minifig scale (one stud equals one foot)?

I don’t suppose you have a sphinx project underway? ;)

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your comments!

Since my Lego model of the pyramid is only 82 studs per side (and 41 bricks high) and the real thing has a base measureing 705 feet per side, I would have to scale it up by a factor of 8.5 in linear dimension to achieve “actual” minifig scale! (the base would be 18 feet on a side!) This would increase the surface area by about 73 times and thus require 73 times more 2x2 tan bricks as well as 2x2 slopes and 8.5 times more corner slopes! It is amazing just how large the real pyramids at Giza are. I could of built the pyramid about 20% larger perhaps if I had torn down two of my buildings that are primarily tan in color but I often bring these buildings to MichLTC events for town/train displays.

As for the Sphinx, I had considered building this but I only have a few 1x1 tan bricks and other odds and ends left. The Sphinx is actually at a considerable distance from the pyramid; the temple next to the Sphinx is or was connected to the pyramid’s mortuary temple by a long causway of some thousands of feet.

I agree Jim, It's not worth it to tear down your 2 Detroit Art Deco masterpieces, the David Stott Tower, and the Fisher Building complex! They're awesome! Gary Istok (18 years ago, 26-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)
