    Hotel Coral Essex —Bill Vollbrecht
Hey Gang, Finally got some pics taken of a couple models I built for the SPLTC train layout we did for the National Orange Show we were at in San Bernadino over Memorial Day weekend. It is completely out of my imagination but based on the grand old (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, FTX) !!

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Marc Nelson Jr.
(...) Nice! I especially like the panels under the first-floor windows. But where's the Ricky Ricardo suite? Marc Nelson Jr. (URL) Marc's Creations>> (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Bill Vollbrecht
(...) Thanks for the comments! I tried to put as much detail as possible into this. It is a different type of monster to build minifig scale as opposed to Miniland scale. Miniland scale being so much larger, you can make things super detailed. But I (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Eric Sophie
Hey Bill, this is a very nice build. I showed it to my lady friend and she could not believe how cool it is. I quote: "Your gonna have to zoom in on that one, I can't believe that's Lego." Mean while I'm starring at the loads of 1x1 tooth pates and (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Bill Vollbrecht
(...) Thanks Eric, Just don't zoom in too close. I am still trying to perfect the art of photgraphing Lego. I am trying to get the lighting right since I can't use a flash. The pics don't always come out super clear.... As for the tan tooth and (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Nick Kappatos
(...) more pictures of them in case I missed some. My favorite part is the name of the hotel... "NO on 15!" -nk (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Bill Vollbrecht
(...) Hey Nick, Thanks! I am going to try and get more pics, but not for a little while. Got some projects I need to devote my time to right now.... Glad you picked up on the Hotel name! Wasn't sure anybody would get the reference... When I was (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Jason Spears
(...) Very nice. I was admiring it in the SPLTC event pictures. Excellent layering of detail pieces. Are more pictures coming of this? It's hard to see the sides and no pictures of the back.          Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Bill Vollbrecht
(...) Hey Jason, Thanks for the comments! I will take more pics soon. The back is pretty unadorned. All I have on back is a fire escape and a loading dock for the hotel. I threw this one together pretty quickly for the show and wasn't able to get (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, FTX)

Amazing Make me wish I was a Jetset of the early 20th century instead of a Student of the early 21th. /Anders (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Bill Vollbrecht
(...) Hey, It is never too late! For me I have always loved old architechure. The modern stuff has never appealed to me. Glass and concrete and steel just doesn't cut it. Give me an old movie house, lofts made from a converted warehouse, or an old (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Bryan Wong
Hi Bill, (...) Wow I really love all the architectural details! My only nitpick is the front doors: your hotel would be perfect if you could find a "left" and a "right" door. Not sure if such doors exist in white (if any) though. Question for you - (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Bill Vollbrecht
(...) Hey Bryan, Yeah, the door thing bugs me too. There are a more modern version of doors that do have a left and a right. I think it is a all clear panel with just a border of color around the edge and a small square for a handle. I only have em (...) (19 years ago, 8-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Hotel Coral Essex —Bryan Wong
(...) If you're feeling adventurous, one thing you might consider is using 2 of this piece: (URL) Although it appears to be somewhat rare... You can carefully remove the frame from the glass and reverse the entire door - creating a mirror copy! I (...) (19 years ago, 8-Jul-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)
