Yeah, the door thing bugs me too. There are a more modern version of doors
that do have a left and a right. I think it is a all clear panel with just a
border of color around the edge and a small square for a handle. I only have
em in red, so it doesnt work with the color scheme, or the style. About the
only other solution I could think of would be to make revolving doors, but
didnt have the time to figure it out...

If youre feeling adventurous, one thing you might consider is using 2 of this
piece:
Although it appears to be somewhat rare... You can carefully remove the frame
from the glass and reverse the entire door - creating a mirror copy! I did it
to an old yellow door and you can see the finished product here:

To answer your question, yes, I keep all of my amazing models intact, it is
the not so amazing ones I take apart! : )

I wish I had the space/resources to keep my models together!

Actually, I just redid my entire studio. Took out the extra bed and added
more shelves. No longer a studio/guestroom, it is now exclusively my Lego
studio. I went through and pulled everything out that could be dismantled or
sorted into the collection. Took about two weeks, but I am finally seeing the
tail end of it.

Im also constantly re-organizing stuff around in my LEGO room (to the dismay of
my wife). My excuse for not building as much as I should is because the rooms
in a mess! I need more shelves too! :)
