One word: FINALLY!

geez, I have been having so much trouble getting a mecha together since
January, but FINALLY I got something finished. :-)

After the hokum, I got about 3/4 of the way done on a winter combat
mecha...that died...then I tried a hardsuit...finished it, but it wasn't
worth posting...then I tried building a large scale mecha...that was so dead
by the time I was up to the waist, it wasn't worht trying to fix what was there.

but FINALLY. :-D

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=15366

sorry for the cruddy/small pics, I'd like to go back and take some new ones
within this week hopefully.

anyways, it's called the Tosai, it has two main weapons, a large beam rifle,
and a small anti-infantry type gun. four smoke dischargers mounted in the
arms. It can hover for short amounts of time via the jets on the back.
There's my spiel.

Anyways, Credits to my buddy Mladen, specifically, on the hands, I combined
the dated minifig feet idea with his newest hand desgin, credits there. The
almost no studs showing construction is credit to him and his wolf as well.
Also, I used Chris Snead's stiffened hinge design in the hips.

I think that's it!

lemme know what you think! :-D

FINALLY! :^P

Hey, it's good to see a new Mech from you. This one is really unussual! I dig the way you did the back pack / rocket pack. I always tell people, "you gotta have a Jet Pack! right?" The grey cylinders in the chest are really different. I like the (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Wow, that's quite a model. Here are my thoughts: The legs are simply great. I like the feet the most. The knees are cool too. Well done. The lower, round, protruding part of the torso is very original. You really have a talent for making any type of (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Not bad at all! The weapons are nice, and so are the legs and the torso. I love what you have done with the yellow "recuring theme" which combines the upper and lower part of the mecha. The head fits nicely between the shoulders, somewhat (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Geordan, nice mecha. there are quite a few things i like about it, but let me just mention the nicest. first off, i think the two weapons are quite nicely done. very good. the hands are cool too. the whole jetpack thing works well w/ the model, (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) there. (...) Look at that - wow! I was wondering when we were going to see something new from you. I've been in a similiar situation; I've scrapped so many projects in the past six months... Anyway, I like this one a lot. Check ou the "no (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Hey dude, I was wondering what happened to you. Now I understand. About the Tosai, I think it is great! The feet you have created are really cool. the use of the engine part is ingenious. I like the guns too! I hope ya have the building 'ball' (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Hey Geordan, you got a nice one here. Reminds me very much of Full Metal Panic (I don't know if anybody has seen the show). I agree with Mladen's assessments. The Shoulders should be either lower or apart more to make it look better. What happened (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
