    Ziggurat: a floating-arm trebuchet —Tim Rueger
   Folks, For the recent TexLUG medieval siege weapon contest, I constructed a floating-arm trebuchet. Here are some annotated photos: (URL) the record, the trebuchet achieved the longest distance launch of the contest projectile (a glued 4x4x3 cube of (...)      (...) "thing". Then he says it's a trebuchet. Oh, it is? This brick-flinging giant hurled many a brick, and a paper wad. It was most impressive! Definitely a crowd pleaser.      (...) Many thanks. I optimized the design for launch distance, and whatever points I got for repeat launch rate or accuracy were a bonus. I think Pat scored highest on launch rate, so the scores ended up fairly balanced. The videos came from the (...) (21 years ago, 4-Nov-03, to lugnet.technic)
