I made a small POV-Ray animation using Anton Raves' library and Jamie Neufeld's Couriership and posted the source code here: (URL) animation is nothing special, but a lot of the POV-Ray code I used in the PCS dogfight animation are in this tutorial. (...) The curse on RealPlayer has lessened. Unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't even run a background process any more! It will only display an update message every now and then when you run it, and even that can easily be minimized in the settings. The (...) (...) I've played with iStopMotion on Mac OS X. Awesome app, it is so easy. They have an ad on www.brickfilms.com. I met one of the developers too, and he is really nice. (...) I've done it using an app called FrameThief, but recently have decided to switch to one called MediaEdit. FrameThief is OS X only, but I think MediaEdit runs on Windows as well. How do stop-motion animators make models that are in mid-air on certain frames? I can imagine suspending the model with a thread and then scrubbing the thread out digitally, but (1) that's a lot of work, and (2) the model wouldn't be very stable, (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.animation)
