Re: Can Ambassadors help contact Japanese AFOLdom?

(...) -snip- (...) This answer isn't particularly Ambassadorial, but: I note Sachiko Akinaga from Tokyo is featured in BrickJournal 6... she might be a good contact to start with. Richie Dulin (URL) (18 years ago, 20-Feb-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Can Ambassadors help contact Japanese AFOLdom?

I'm trying to organize LEGO events at the upcoming World Science Fiction Convention, or (URL) Worldcon>, known this year as (URL) "Nippon2007"> and to be held in Yokohama, Japan. Problem: I have no idea how to contact the movers and shakers in (...) (18 years ago, 20-Feb-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

(...) Very nice models! My favourite is the DeLorean, it is in my opinion the best model to be made out of LEGO. In any case except for the DeLorean, I would certainely hope the cars to be in other colors. A bley beetle looks...weird to say just (...) (18 years ago, 26-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: LEGOfan - is it dead?

(...) Hi Todd, LEGOFan is currently offline due to a disk drive problem which took down the RAID array. We've been working with Eric at Northstar Computers to get it fixed, but it looks like the drive(s) are hosed at a low level, and require a clean (...)   Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

I always liked the classic bug. I am not sure how it would sell in the USA, but classic is always good. I do think offering copies of new cars with the dealers would be a great specialty set. Same with the airlines, copies of the planes people rode (...) (18 years ago, 14-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

A while ago the ambassadors (URL) asked> for ideas for a possible future car set. The restrictions were: •The car will be for display, which means it will have little functionality •The car will have a System body •The car should be very iconic (...)   Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

I gotta tell you I really love the modular town idea, and I really like the attention paid to architectural design. I just really hope LEGO prices these well enough for them to be a real hit. Bravo! (18 years ago, 12-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

<snip> (...) Seconded! I really, hope that they will steer, it adds so much playability :-) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

(...) Hi Stephan, thanks for sharing this great topic to the lugnet'ers as well. But why not offering everybody to say his/her opinion right here in the lugnet newsboard. This might give TLC another bunch of information ... I try to remember the (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

Hi Didier, (...) These models are moreless scatch models. They are all grey/black only to get an idea of the size and the details or the choice between studs, tiles or both building ways. They didn't cared about the colors at all. So don't worry (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

(...) Hi, Very nice designs. I just fell the overall look too much "grey". Well I guess it's a reasonable choice for cars produced before the 70ies. And what about the DeLorean? She's obviously modified to fit the look of Back to the Future movie (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

(...) Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying. And since they already have their poll info, I won't spoil anything by saying that the original LEGOFan poll showed the VW in the lead by a long margin. And the VW model shown in this thread is also one of the (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

(...) You're right, I didn't wrote it clearly enough. The designer wanted to get the local fan's opinion via pen & paper (very classic and userful way ;)) Actually I didn't know anything about an online poll. So this posting was just for letting you (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Prototypes shown at fan event in Frechen (germany)

(...) Hi Stephan, Thanks for sharing these images. Are you saying this thread is a poll, and you'd like feedback here? Or were you saying these designs are as a result of a poll? I ask because there was a poll on LEGOFan several months ago that I (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)
