Does anyone have any ideas as to why it's so difficult (nearly impossible) to find set 5909? It's the set with the tan bi-plane with white wings and a little jeep-truck thing. I've managed to collect every other adventurers' set from 1998 except (...) (25 years ago, 18-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

(...) little (...) I have it and it's a great set. I'm pretty sure it was just a 'limited edition' type thing. I saw it all at once at Walmarts & TRUs in MASS quantity (end caps stuffed with 'em) late last summer, then watched their numbers shrink (...) (25 years ago, 18-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

(...) little (...) In the UK, this set was a Toys R Us exclusive set, one of the only such sets I can recall, apart from a Divers floating lab... (...) little (...) This is a very hard set to find. I got mine from the Construction Site (www.constructiontoys.com) for $19.90 back in September. It was available in limited quanities back then so I dont know if any are still available. Rich (25 years ago, 18-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

I think it was a 1998-only set. Here in Canada (I don't know about the US) it comes with a mummy-shaped lego carrying-case. (...) I suspect one reason this set hasn't stayed around is that it takes an awfull lot of shelf space for a $20 set, and it doesn't stack well. Stores probably didn't re-order after the first wave. I suggest watching the clearance stores (note that (...) (25 years ago, 23-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers)
