I'd agree here... black & dark grey would work well - there's a decent
selection of black slopes that are fairly easily gotten ahold of, and small dk-
grey plates are getting more common in the sets - enough that it should let
you do some sculpting.
In a similar vein, I'll try and hunt down the picture I took of the
Adventurers store display at LegoLand California - mostly a composite of the
Egyptian sets, but some other really neat things.
