Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow —Chris Paton
I have just seen the trailer for this film, it has possibly been on release in the USA for a while, I don't know. But it looks like Crimson Skies has just hit the big screen - blimps and prop planes with huge guns!! Has anyone seen the movie? Is it (...)         Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow —Elroy Davis
(...) I didn't get a chance to see it while it was in the theaters. The trailers I saw looked really cool though. I know it didn't do very well (at least in this area) at the box office, but that doesn't always mean much. I'm patiently waiting for (...)         Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow —Erik Schroer
The movie is good but a little disjointed at times. However, it isnt exactly Crimson Skies on the big screen. It has all the elements of one but it doesn't put it into cohesive aerial cinema. The imagery is really good, though with a 50's style (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow —Matt Zitron
(...) Saw it and REALLY liked it. I knew it wasn't going to be Shakespeare, but it was an enjoyable romp. It was like watching a pulp novel, and it really worked. There was real chemistry between Paltrow and Law, and the ending line was a corker. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Thanks for the reviews guys. I will probably see it, but maybe wait for the dvd it often works out at the same price as a cinema ticket! :) In the very least it can be of some inspiration for MOC building! Chris (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow —Mark Sandlin
(...) I loved it. I had a big stupid grin on my face for two hours. The entire movie is a tribute to 1930s era art deco, robots, and adventure comics of the time. There are also a lot of visual references to old science fiction movies, so keep your (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow —Jeff Findley
(...) I've not seen this yet, but it looks cool, what with the retro look and all. We took the kids to see The Incredibles over the weekend. I thought it was very good. And yes, I did see it with the mindset of an 8 year old. It's got a few cool (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow —Terry Prosper
(...) I personaly hated it. At first, it seemed like a great idea, but I guess they screwed it up bad because the scenario is poor at best, the acting is very ordinary (I really don't like Gwynneth Paltrow and don't even get me started on Jude (...)
