New Orient theme preview in Lego Magazine

I recieved the Lego Magazine for Nov-Dec today. In it is a preview of the
new Adventurers subtheme Orient Expedition. Johnny Thunder will be back,
but he has a new torso. His torso and the hat he is wearing apear textured
in the picture, like slope peices are. I've never seen a minifig like that
before, just wondering if there have been anything like that before.
This theme and the new mini Star Wars sets look good, the new NBA sets I'll
have to see in person to know what to think.

Besides the texture what does the hat and torso look like? Is the torso some kind (...) (22 years ago, 18-Nov-02, to lugnet.adventurers)
