  Re: My scorpion-towed hover chariot

(...) JUNGLE PODRACER?!? Nick :^L (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: My scorpion-towed hover chariot

To answer both of the connection questions: 1. Connecting via the stud will force the cahin to make a "bend" to get through the tail, and when placing the chain straight, the scorpion will then be slightly rotated around the y-axis (sorry, done too (...)   Re: My scorpion-towed hover chariot

(...) idea! Couldn't you just poke the tails of the scorpions through the hole in the chain end stud? That way you wouldn't have to use the extra clip element to connect the chain. Or perhaps it can't be done? Fredrik (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: My scorpion-towed hover chariot

(...) This has got to be one of the weirdest things I have ever seen built with bricks -- but I like it! Why didn't you just chain the scorpians via their handy top pegs though? And if I may so, I think you need more scorpians to get up to any (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  My scorpion-towed hover chariot

After the disscussion on scorpion-towed vehicles in .adventurers and off-topic.fun, I built one: (URL) is a hovering chariot, towed by two scorpions, and has place for one passenger (in this case, the Jungle Priestess). The chariot itself is shaped (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Alpha team - Doc Savage team ?

Hello Adventures, Well the new line "Alpha Team" looks to be a modern spin off from the Adventures line. When I saw all the team member character mininfig faces I was instantly reminded of Doc Savage and his team of crime-busters. If I am not (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Strange Names Indeed

(...) Ah ha! So then his full name and title is: "the Baron Alex von Gluipstra"! Much better then "Baron von Barron". Now, don't we have some one named "Toki Barron on this list"? Who is he related to? :) Adrick (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: next year

Unfortunately I'm afraid the Adventurers line has burned itself (...) One of the things I'm really sad about, is that there are no new "past" themes, subthemes, or sets for next year. Adventurers,Pirates, Wild West and Castle are all gone, or at (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Strange Names Indeed

Mr L F Braun wrote in message ... (...) Gluipstra, (...) Yes, it appears that she's the sister of Sam, and she then married the Baron at some point. It breaks down like this: Alexia Sinister (Sam's sister) married Baron von Barron, also known as (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: "Is he seriously thinking it's going to work?"

Aren't lobsters black *before* you boil[1] them? That would explain a lot... Johnny Thunder has a lobster towing his raft! The only problem is... Lobsters do not live in fresh water. Maybe it is a really big freshwater shrimp? (...) [1] We can have (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: next year

(...) Unfortunately I'm afraid the Adventurers line has burned itself out--perhaps not in our eyes, but in the eyes of TLC. Three years is about the shelf-life of a theme, as far as I've been able to tell, so we shouldn't be surprised if 2000 is the (...) (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Strange Names Indeed

(...) Hm, actually, it's much more disturbing. Sam Sinister, in the US, isn't the Baron (with the hook and pith helmet)--he's the guy in the black suit, red shirt, and black top hat, with round glasses and a fiendish visage. So he's her brother? So (...) (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: "Is he seriously thinking it's going to work?"

(...) A lobster? Ye Gods, man, I think you're on to something! Now I have to completely alter the power ratios! (And figure out why they've got erectile tails.) Hmmm...that may explain the trans-orange ones, but then why is the riverine example (...) (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  next year

Forgive me if I am asking something that has already been answered, but after all of the excitement over in the starwars group over next years stuff, I was wondering what next year holds for the Adventurers? I don't think I've yet read anything (...) (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Strange Names Indeed

(...) Maybe this will make you feel better... In the latest issue of MANIA MAG here in the US, The caption under Alexia says: Alexia Sinister Sam finds the treasure to steal, but it is his sister Alexia who comes up with the plans. Alexia keeps (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Strange Names Indeed

(...) Maybe she is the daughter of the monacled menace? will that make you sleep better?...lol Oh no, I smell an Adventurer soap opera... As The Brick Turns... All My Minifigs... The Young And ABS-less If she is married to him... maybe she married (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: "Is he seriously thinking it's going to work?"

(...) Or, perhaps the red-orange thing is a lobster and not a scorpion at all? That would make the most sense. (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Would a general/pilot in WW1.........

(...) I was actually including the non-combat service life with it, so in fact you may be agreeing with me here. ;) It also does shift from year to year, month to month, as aerial combat is refined and made more lethal and exhaustion sets in on the (...)   Re: Would a general/pilot in WW1.........

(...) Nope. The average pilots service life was _less_ than the average grunt. 2nd Lt (ground) had lowest life expectancy, I believe around 17 DAYS. But, pilots often died in the first 5 MIN of combat. The good pilots lasted much longer...but, they (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Strange Names Indeed

Hello. Here in the Netherlands, I have discovered something very odd. Baron von Barron has another name--and what's more, he has some kind of connection to my beloved Femme Fatale. He's called "Alex Gluipstra." She's "Alexis Gluipstra." Now, I'm (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.adventurers)
