Arguably, a problem tracking system (which has been suggested in the past,
cf. http://news.lugnet.com/admin/general/?n=9677 and subsequent posts
downtree including this one http://news.lugnet.com/admin/general/?n=9678 and
i know it's been mentioned elsewhence too) would be a better solution for
bug reports (and for enhancement requests) as it provides much more
information in a compact form (current status, severity, when it was fixed,
etc) than freeform newsgroup posts.
However newsgroups are much simpler to implement. Either would be good.
