I've been reading a lot of the discussion late on this topic, and I've be think
a lot about this. Ultimately I'm not against the idea of giving Lego the
ability to post throughout Lugnet, but this is the one issue that does concern
me. I'd like to know which messages are from Lego and which ones aren't so I
can make my own decision on how to treat them. I know you can see the email
address of the sender, but this isn't all that obvious, especially to a new
comer.
I think a technical solution to this would be to automatically add the text
"Lego Representative:", or something to that effect, to the header of any
message coming from a Lego email address.
An additional feature, that might be a little more difficult, would be to give
Lego's messages a different colour then the light blue tone that all messages
have now.
This kind of thing would obviously differentiate them. I can't see Lego
complaining to much. A lot of companies are strict about the use of their
email address. This way their employees will clearly understand that they are
representing Lego when they use their Lego address. If they wish to post as
just AFOL then they can still use a personal email address.
Thanks for taking the time to listen to suggestions. I've had nothing but good
experiences from Lugnet and Lego, but I'm glad you are taking the time to
consider options and consequences when making a decision as big as this.

| Todd and I will be discussing this issue with LD next month. I'm hoping there's a good solution or alternative that we just haven't thought of yet. You can bet we'll be open minded and reasonable. We very much *do* want to see LD happy, and help TLC (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.lego.direct) !!
