The Quick Summary
=================

Effectively immediately, all LUGNET News posts now require e-mail
authentication after posting, in order to prevent the continuance of forged
messages.  An exception to this rule is if you are a member and signed-in
through the web interface, in which case the system has already authenticated
you and simply logs your Member-ID in the message headers.

Good work, Todd.

As I use the web interface this doesn't affect me much at all.  I understand
the issues raised by some who do not use the web interface, and I'm sure
you'll work with them as much as possible/feasible to address their
concerns, but I see this as a great step towards preventing a goodly bit of
the nonsense that has been going on.
