It's issues like this which are why I end up always coming back to using
a news reader as my primary reading tool. When I do browse posts through
the web interface, I always open the post in another window, so I can
return to the original list to pick the next post.
FWIW, it seems to me that the observed behavior of the first group in
the list being the group context used has always been the case.
