I've only been glancing at the thread, and i still say it's todd's call,
whether we agree with it or not.  and also, i'm not sure it's
appropriate to try and organize a desertion on the very same community
that some people seem to have a problem with... :)  *shrug* i didn't
want to get involved, i was simply saying that yes, someone reading his
note would see *no* issues, and 2, we're lucky to have lugnet in the
first place.

See lugnet.admin.nntp....

and imho, this isn't *our* site, it's Todds...

Yes and no (mostly yes). Yes, it is Todd's and Suzanne's site, but
without us the whole brew-ha-ha would be meaningless, so in a way it is
OUR site. And notice Paul isn't even claiming that we should set the
rules. He doesn't even demand Todd listen to our views (but does mention
that we owe it to him and the rest of us to make our feelings known -
which perhaps is too strong an expectation).

The point that Paul is making however is that if we (those of use who
have concerns) don't have our concerns considered and addressed, that we
may take ourselves elsewhere.

I want to highlight that administrative actions and discussions over the
past year or so are brewing dissention. What we all risk if we let
things fester is disintegration of a wonderful community.

FUT: lugnet.admin.nntp (to bring the discussion where it is occuring,
though I'm not sure if that's where it really belongs).

(...) I don't think Paul is trying to organize desertion, I think he's well aware of some of the discontent that has been expressed lately and he's probably tired of it. Instead of simply telling everyone to take their disagreements elsewhere, he's (...) (24 years ago, 16-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
