This isn't really strictly true; there are a lot of discussions in the
.loc groups which have nothing to do with LEGO (for example, lodging,
sightseeing, local politics), and pretty much anything and everything
goes in the .org.xx.yyyyy groups -- it's up to each group to decide what's
on-topic there.
The "LEGO-ness" of the .people area is somewhat gray, like the .loc areas.
That said, if the gay marriage thread becomes an impersonal debate,
participants may want to consider moving it to the .off-topic.debate area
as Tim suggests.
