(...) <WILD_SPECULATION> I'll bet you anything that OE (*cough* *cough* Microsoft *cough* :-) implements the 'NEWGROUPS' command in the NNTP protocol incorrectly, and in your case sent CMT instead of GMT for the time when querying what new groups (...) (20 years ago, 10-May-04, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) No, it's there in NNTP. If it weren't, nothing would be able to be posted to it. (The NNTP server is the core, and the web interface sits atop that.) Hmm, what NNTP client are you guys running? (...) Is your system clock set correctly? --Todd (20 years ago, 9-May-04, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
