It's a technical bug. :) It's alright for IE to generally assume that they are the same for the purposes of making a history, but it's wrong to use a mechanism that doesn't work if they're different. Web servers generally return a 301 Moved (...) (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
