BTW, just to be picky, LD does indeed sell bulk elements. it says so right
on the bulk page that they are fulfilled via S@H, which as we know, is a
part of LD. QED, LD sells bulk elements. :-)

I think that Todd's saying that Lego Direct is a completely different entity
from Shop At Home. LD relates to the consumers; S@H sells stuff.

Orgchartwise, S@H reports to LD. So no. S@H *is* LD. Not all of it, natch, but
part of it. QED, like I said. :-)

And has been pointed out before, S@H has been part of LD (actually in full
it's LDMI - LEGO Direct Marketting Inc) for longer than LD has been being
talked about here - look at some of your old S@H receipts, I have one from
4/13/99 which says it is distributed by "LEGO Direct Marketting Inc", though
interestingly a 6/24/99 one from S@H Canada is listed as "Distributed by LEGO
Shop at Home". Also note that the boxes all say LDMI Inc (woops, LEGO Direct
Marketting Inc. Inc!) on them.

Someone who has been an AFOL for longer than I have should be able to
determine a little closer when LDMI formed (though I would assume that the
actual formation is most likely a few months earlier than the oldest receipt -
the "distributed by LEGO Direct Marketting Inc" is in the small print on the
back, and would not neccessarily warrant throwing out the old receipts when
the new organization was rolled out, of course it's also possible, but highly
unlikely, that the receipts were rolled out before the organization changes).
