that's not so friendly -

How friendly is it for someone to post using a broken client which can't even
get the headers correct?

There are hundreds of non-broken clients to use.

mail interface... :/

This wouldn't catch the Eudora bug -- which omits the last message-ID in the
References header -- that's much worse than leaving off the References header
entirely (IMHO) because it's much more misleading.


dunno what you can do though - no really good way of know what the referece
is without the headers...

Right -- only this one case, I think, is cut & dry -- if there's a "Re:" but
no references, it should in theory (haven't checked deeply actual data yet)
be a very good bet that the client is broken.
