Ok, I've broken down and put my Lugnet membership card with my machine
generated password taped to the back of it in my wallet.  So I can sign in

Now, though, I want more, and I think other people do too.

I want to not have to type my name and e-mail address every single time I use
the web interface to post.

??

This is already something you have if you use the set cookie/wipe cookie
functionality that's here:

http://www.lugnet.com/news/post/setup/

Now my beef is that cookies are not the way to go on this, better that the
server goes into the correct cookie driven session than that we hold a lot of
context info IN the cookie.

Or are you asking about something else?
