is it possible, and worthwhile to have a thread score? Have a thread score be the average score of _rated_ posts in that thread? Just wondering... :) Dan (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

No, that's fine, what I was driving at was that I would not add up the averages and divide by the number of posts, I'd add up the individual ratings and divide by the number of ratings... see the diff? Or were you talking (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) rated (...) averages (...) divide (...) STILL not sure we're on the same page. Suppose we have 3 posts. One got 5 ratings (plus the dummy) and has an average of 75 (dummy 50, 100, 100, 100, 50, 50) One got 1 rating (plus the dummy) and has an (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
