In lugnet.admin.general, Scott Arthur writes:
The fact that a user uses LUGNet possibly means that they get benefit • from
it. .admin debates can result in change, or result from it, so it is
important that a wide range of view are represented. Anything which • reduces
that range of views is a bad thing - in my opinion.

Maybe we can come up with some ways to attract more people who care (and • who
don't want to come just to stir up mud).

I have been reading all the messages in this group since I started to • browse
LUGNET (since october '99) Yet I haven't really contributed in the
discussions. My main reason is that I feel like a newbie between you • people
and every time I start writing a mail the "don't be a wiseguy"-feeling • comes
up.
The admin group 'feels' like the board for experienced LUGNETters  to me, • so
who am I to mind LUGNET admin business. Note that this is my feeling, but
probably more people feel like that.

This may be the problem. I feel new here too. But I'd like to think my
opinion is just as important as a a "newbee" or an old timer. I'm sue we all
agree on this.

Then again I think Todd is also right by saying that there are people who
don't care at all, as long as they can read the postings. Well, I _do_ • care
because I think LUGNET is a great thing and to be part of a community like
this really adds to the hobby- that is where LUGNET ceases to be just a
bunch of postings. I think the people to whom LUGNET is more than just • that,
those are the people who care.
So Todd, Scott and others, just by mentioning that the views of all people
who care count, caused me to participate in these discussions. So there, I
hope you're happy about it ;-)
