Well, that one did, I'm getting the following error:
(crud, I can't cut and paste so I'll try and re-type it)
Outlook Express could not post the message 'Re: stuff (was: Art Debate Was:
[Re: Swearing?])' to Lego Users Group. The server responded '441
defhdrs.awk: no Subject: header!'.
When I try and reply to:
Xref: lugnet.com lugnet.off-topic.debate:3873
I got this message even when I reduced the Subject down to just "Re: stuff".

Ok, I see the problem, there is a munged reference (in the edit window for
this message, the references are highlighted except for one, which happens
to be missing the ">" which makes it real obvious where the problem is.

| Todd, I hope you don't mind, I tried to telnet into the news port to attempt to post a valid message, but I couldn't seem to get the right message stuff pasted in, so if you look at the logs, you'll notice several bunged attempts to post. | (...) Actually, that's not the problem. The problem is that References: is exactly 511 characters (and yes, I counted.), no more and no less, long. It's a documented problem by now, see previous thread here. Cnews does Bad Things to headers 512+ (...) (27 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
