Informal call for dicussion...
lugnet.clones
=============
Several people have suggested there be a "clones" group, or at least a clearer
specification of where clones discussions could/should take place. Does a
lugnet.clones group make sense?
* If it did exist, would discussions of imitation/off-brands naturally
gravitate there?
* If it did exist, would fans of clones have a nice and pleasant place to
discuss clones, or would we see drive-by postings like "Giga-Blocs stink!" ?
* If it did exist, would it annoy purists that it existed, or would it annoy
them more than if it didn't exist?

| (...) Maybe. I'm sure some would, and some people would certainly encourage that. (...) There would probably be some "product X stinks" stuff. :/ (...) It makes no difference to me at all. (26 years ago, 10-Oct-98, to lugnet.admin.general)

| (...) Me, I'd just not subscribe. You could put something like: "If you don't want to talk constructively, please don't subscribe to this group" in the charter, maybe..... (26 years ago, 10-Oct-98, to lugnet.admin.general)

| (...) I don't like the name "clone" It does not say intuitively to me Lego clones. This says, to me, Lugnet clones. *shrug* (...) I don't know (...) Probably we would get quite a bit of this, given the general run of thing, once we get more people. (...) (26 years ago, 10-Oct-98, to lugnet.admin.general)

| (...) Yes. There's plenty of interest in the new clones, and whether things like hats and whatnot fit in with Lego bricks. (...) Oh, I don't think that matters too much. -gyug (26 years ago, 12-Oct-98, to lugnet.admin.general)
