In fact there is no explicit 'no cursing' policy. All there is on 1000steine is
the usual 'net etiquette', everybody is held to try to be pleasant and polite.
Of course no illegal content is allowed in any case. Most of the time only
registered users (similiar to Lugnet) are allowed to post to the 1000steine
forums anyway, so this means most posts are from mature AFOLs who know what they
are there for: Talk about LEGO. Occasionally people use what you might call
"inappropriate" language and cuss words, and I have to admit I did that, too.
However, it's rare and that's usually not a reason for René to delete or edit
the respective post. Only if arguments are getting too harsh he would interfere
and ask the persons involved to cool down a little. The only posts that
explicitly are deleted are uncalled-for spam messages and blatant advertising
for auctions or shops in the main forum.
If people really get suspended from the 1000steine forum it's not because of the
words they use but for the intentions they had and the attitudes they showed.
And it doesn't help much to mask a c*ss w*rd as long as it's still obvious to
everybody that you used a cuss word in the first place. Of course, it's always
better not to curse at all.
Bye
Jojo

| (...) Willy, I'd like to 2nd Ben's suggestion. If Lugnet isn't your cup of tea, then 1000steine might be. I've met Rene and Ben in person and both are excellently nice guys. Ben, Are you meaning to say that 1000steine doesn't have a 'no cursing' (...) (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.general)
