In how many of Willy's posts has he posted a so called "bad" word?  The only one
I have read is the one that sparked this debate.  I think that instead of
immediately firing off a threatening email, the admin should have let it drop.

That would've sparked shouts of favoritism... I think consistency is vital,
especially when it comes to the so-called "worst" words.

The admins are in the business of issuing value judgments, so I contend that any
decision that they make can spark shouts of favoritism which is why this should
be, at the very least, marginalized as a factor in a judgment if not disregarded
completely.  The admins are also allowed to change their stance on an issue so
in terms of consistency the admins should make judgments consistent with their
current stance.  In other words, if you formulate an opinion and make a judgment
based on that opinion you are not "locked in" to supporting that opinion
forever.  You are allowed to change your mind and changing the admins mind is
what I'm trying to accomplish by posting.  That's not to say that I want the
admins to drop everything and adopt my way of seeing things but I do hope to
some of what I write sinks in and takes root.

I think for minor transgressions the best course of action is no action at all.
Taking this approch will not turn Lugnet into a cussing free-for-all as I also
think that most people realize that cussing in polite conversion may offend so
they refrain.  Since even the most careful people err on occasion, I think
overlooking minor slip-ups will lead to more harmony and less vitriol.
