I’ve attached a link to a good commentary about group dynamics, social behavior,
technology, and group structure in online communities. (Article: “A Group Is Its

It is long, but “Part One” and “Three Things to Accept” are IMO the most
interesting and relevant reads, and discusses real experiences (and often
failures) of online communities that should be heeded.
I offer this merely as another input for the ad hoc group to consider as they
restructure LUGNET, especially as we potentially move from a “monarchy” to a
“democracy”.
LUGNET has been a great community, and I wish it the best in evolving “to the
next level”
