Re: One of my issues with the god of the old testament

(...) Any of us can construct nonsensical statements. How big is yellow? A square circle. 2+2=5. Whatever. How can any being *do* the logically impossible? That which our imaginations may conceive cannot be the standard which a Greater Being must (...) (23 years ago, 16-Nov-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: need advice from lego gurus

Dan, If you are okay with it being further forward when it is raised than when it is lowered, you can use a rather simple but robust method of raising your gripper while keeping it parallel to the ground/floor. I'm afraid I can't whip up a drawing, (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jul-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  BrickCon 2015 SHIP Roll Call

Wow, what a turnout of SHIPs at BrickCon 2015. I counted 28 SHIPs in the display this year, and of this set 17 of them were SHIPtember projects. What is SHIPtember? I'm glad you asked. It's a challenge to build a SHIP in one month. Specifically, (...) (9 years ago, 6-Oct-15, to lugnet.space, FTX) !!

Re: Bad Policy #2 (Why all the secrecy, LEGO Direct?)

(...) You're right, Larry! And you know how I hate it when that happens... =oP I had a co-worker, who shall remain nameless, who possesses this kind of short attention span. We had gone to TRU together a few times -- and while I always made for the (...) (23 years ago, 15-May-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) Perhaps you wouldn't, but don't be surprised if some people here don't believe that. I've skimmed most of this thread, and it sounds like a broken record. Some people whine about what LEGO should do. Other people counter them, but are (...) (22 years ago, 14-Sep-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: File Header request for Minifig Parts

Hi Willy (and everyone :), I mostly agree with your idea that 'minifig parts' need to be rearranged. This has been a back-burner project of mine for over a year (and it had been thought about for much longer than that). Here are some things to keep (...)   Re: A Generic Idea

(...) Ah - OK. But other things in the world (like people) are moving around - it's not always going to be possible to stop, capture a static image - and then reliably navigate based on it. I guess there are niches where such a robot could be (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Older Set info to add

TLG and people who love Lego

Dear TLG: Your current policy seems to be that to get to a certain point in the corporate hierarchy, you need to be Danish. That's fine, and it's certainly your perogative. But I feel you'd be better served by a different selectivity. Please ensure (...) (26 years ago, 23-Jan-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

We have done this. That is retro-fitted an RCX with a bluetooth module. It involves hardware hacking the RCX, which will "void the warranty". Don't do it unless you can afford to completely break your RCX, and can afford a spare! Can I ask, are you (...) (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.robotics)
